Three prototypes were built between 1997 and 2003. The 2003 version was powered by 6,800 lightweight lithium-ion cells. It had a range of 300 miles (480 km) and accelerated from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. The car had a top speed of just over 140 mph (225 kph), although it was never run at  greater than 105 mph (169 km/h).    [ Back ]
