It was powered by a 20kW PEM fuel cell/ultra capacitor and used hydrogen stored in metal hydride. The Demio had a top speed of about 57 mph (90 kph) and a maximum range of 106 miles (170 km).  In 2001 the company produced the Premacy FC-EV that was powered by an 85kW PEM fuel cell.
